Three Steps To Success
13.09.2011
Many new clients tell me of previously failed diets and fitness regimes. They blame failure on external factors or myths and gossip they have heard surrounding human physiology. They tell me they want to successfully lose weight, become better athletes or change there body shape for the better. But it quickly comes apparent they don’t want success; they just want it a little bit. Most don’t want to successfully change more than they want a glass of wine in an evening, a biscuit or chocolate treat or a relaxing night in watching a movie. There are three important steps in-which you must take to be successful. All three are important but they increase in difficulty, with the finale step most people’s downfall.
Imagine. It is important to use your imagination when starting a new fitness regime. Stand opposite the mirror, on weighing scales or look at old pictures of yourself and imagine the body shape or weight you desire. This picture will give you an image to work to whether it is in six months, a year or two years time.
Faith. Have faith in the image that you imagine. Make sure the target isn’t to unrealistic and is made up of small short steps. A goal that is to big can be daunting and can often lead to de-motivation. This can cause many people to quit their new fitness regime early.
What Will You Sacrifice. What will you sacrifice today for that future image and success? As mentioned earlier this is where most people fail in their quest for success. Most people are not willing to make sacrifices to achieve there fitness goals. Some clients have tried to bargain with me to allow a certain food to remain in their weekly diet while others constantly make the same wrong food choices week-in week-out in their food diaries. These people say they want success; however in reality successfully changing their body and health is low down on the list.
It is only when that person realises the sacrifices they must make to achieve their fitness goals they will be successful. They must have said their last excuse yesterday and move forward to realising there fitness goals.
