Omega 3 Supplementation

I often get asked which is the number one food supplement by my clients. I tell them fish oils regardless of there goals, whether is be weight loss or muscle gain. Fish oils (most importantly Omega-3 fatty acid) are the most important supplement you can take and have an impressive list of benifits.

Firstly they turn on the lipolytic (fat burning) gene whilst turning off the lipogenic (fat storage) gene, and secondly they prevent cachexia, or muscle wastage, that naturally occurs in all our bodies as part of their constant state of flux, and make our body more insulin sensitive, allowing for a positive nutrient partitioning effect where more of what you eat is stored in muscle as opposed to fat cells.

Many of my client experince weight loss just by adding 10g+ of high quality fish oils without diet intervention.

However, the problem is that many of the fish oil products on the market are simply not very good. To get the maximum profit from fish oil supplements, many manufacturers compromise on quality. Make sure you buy High Concentrate EPA-DHA liquid as apposed to cheaper soft gels.
